Size: UK O.5
Age: 1880-1890
Setting Size: 8mm x 1.8cm
Material: 18ct Gold
Marks: 18ct
Weight: 3.2 grams
Principal Stone: Diamond
Principal Cut: Old Cut
Est Weight: 0.50ct
Case: Modern Ring Box

An absolutely divine antique ring, crafted from warm, buttery 18ct gold with a navette / marquise shaped setting studded with 19 sparkling old cut dianonds. The marquise is a French design, shaped the first time to resemble the smile of King Louis XV’s mistress, the Marquise of Pompadour. The shape has remained popular thanks to both its unusual style, but also its ability to elongate the appearance of the finger.

This is a show-stopping ring with a solid 18ct gold shank and decorative scroll work to the shoulders. The gallery is raised with openwork decoration, and the attention to detail on the piece - which would have been entirely hand crafted - if sensational. The old cut diamonds are bright and well matched, and the light bounces off them beautifully. A delightful piece of history, and whoever is this ring's next custodian will be a very happy person indeed!

Important note: we do not offer ring resizing, so this is something you would need to arrange after purchase.
