A fabulous antique ring crafted in 18ct gold in a UK size L.5. The ring features two beautiful cushion cut blue sapphires surrounded by cluster of small diamonds in a mix of old cuts and rose cuts. The stones have been millegrain set into 18ct white gold.
The sapphires have a beautiful blue hue and as we would expect, do have some nibbles to the facet edges visible under the loupe. Sapphire is a relatively tough stone, but nonetheless nibbles are to be expected when the stone is not bezel set. Future caretakers of this ring should ensure they take it off before any activity where the stones could get knocked, to keep it in its current condition.
The ring band is fashioned from 18ct yellow gold and this piece is a lovely example of turn of the 20th century design. The flower motif is striking and the ring has clearly been a treasured item for many years. The band is in great condition for its age and the stones complement each other beautifully.
This piece would make a perfect vintage engagement ring, but equally a lovely choice to celebrate another special occasion such as a birthday or graduation. Whoever decides to be this ring's next custodian, will be thrilled.
Important note: the vintage ring case you can see in the photos is one of our props and is not being sold with the ring. Also, we do not offer ring resizing, so this is something you would need to arrange after purchase.
